How many total guests can Woodleaf accommodate?
Woodleaf can currently host groups as large as 400.
Is there a minimum reservation number required?
For exclusive use of the property, Woodleaf requires a minimum of 300 paying guests. We are glad to accommodate smaller groups, however, there is a possibility of sharing the facilities with other groups. We will assist you in coordinating meal times and use of main meeting rooms.
Is there a minimum number to have the kitchen prepare meals?
We ask for a minimum of 50 contracted full-paying guests to open the kitchen.
Will each guest need to bring linens or a sleeping bag?
Woodleaf provides a blanket and a pillow for each bed. Each guest will need to bring linens or a sleeping bag. Linens are always provided in Woodville and Wagon Train.
Are you able to host small groups? What if we provide our own meals?
Our deluxe housing, Woodville and Wagon Train, can accommodate groups up to 40 guests. There are working kitchens in both facilities. The Woodleaf kitchen's availability to deluxe housing is contingent upon whether there are other groups in camp.
I am ready to reserve a weekend ... what is my next step?
Contact our office via the information listed on the Trip Planner page. Once an available weekend has been agreed upon and a contract has been signed, you will be sent a Guest Services Information (GSI) Packet, which includes iinformation regarding menu choices, recreational activities, housing, and other information to assist you in planning your camp or retreat.
What staffing is the group responsible for providing?
Medical Personnel - A Doctor, PA, Nurse and/or EMT to respond to the medical needs of your group.
Program Tech - Please designate a Program Tech to operate all of the sound, lighting and audio visual equipment that you may use. Our staff wil be available to train your Program Tech on the various equipment and systems, but will not be available to serve as Program Tech for your camp.
Camp Director - A contact person in charge of your group.
Cabin Leaders - If it's a high school or middle school retreat we ask that at least one adult stays with the kids in each cabin.
Lifeguard - If the pool is open and your group wishes to use it, please provide a certified lifeguard.
What is the group expected to help clean up at the end of the weekend?
Clean-up includes folding blankets, picking up trash, putting back any furniture that has been moved, cleaning bathrooms and sweeping or vacuuming floors in cabins. In deluxe housing please strip the beds.
What age campers can attend Woodleaf summer camp?
Woodleaf offers ten weeks of high school camping. High school campers must have completed one year of high school.
How do I register for summer camp?
Reservations for summer camp are made through local Young Life area offices. Contact information for Young Life offices is available on the Young Life web site. If you are unable to locate your area office please contact Woodleaf directly.
How do I participate in work crew during the summer?
How do I participate in Summer Staff?
Work crew is the volunteer experience at a Young Life camp for those in high school. To be eligible a student must have completed one year of high school and his or her local Young Life area’s work crew training course. The work crew serve the campers in a variety of ways, including dining hall servers, grounds crew and housekeepers. Once an application has been filled out, it should be turned in to the local Young Life leader who will route it to Young Life camps. The deadline for work crew applications is March 15, however, any spots not filled by the work crew quota will be made available mission-wide after March 15. More information...
Summer Staff is the volunteer experience at a Young Life camp for those who have been out of high school for at least one year. Summer Staff serve the campers in a variety of ways, including working in the Store, Office, Coffee Shop, Kitchen, or running the rides. Once an application
